Welcome to Yin Psychology
At Yin Psychology, we integrate modern psychological practices with ancient philosophy to foster balance and well-being.
The yin yang symbol represents two opposite but complementary sides, existing in a dynamic relationship with one another. Sometimes one is dominant, sometimes the other. Here at Yin Psychology, we believe that both are integral parts of the human psyche and believe in the existence of harmony between them.
Just as day and night or rest and activity complement each other in nature, our emotions, thoughts, and behaviours can be seen through this lens to promote harmony and mental health. At Yin Psychology, we guide you in cultivating this balance, helping you achieve a state of equilibrium where inner peace and growth thrive together.
In line with our philosophy of balance, we believe that mental health services should be accessible by all. While Yin Psychology is a private billing practice, we do provide discretionary reduced rate sessions for individuals experiencing financial hardship. If this is the position you are in, please let us know.
Yin Psychology is a solely Telehealth private billing practice and therefore has the capacity to service clients across all states of Australia.
Our Psychologists
At Yin psychology, all practitioners are Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) approved psychologists. Each clinician is committed to your wellbeing, using modern day evidence-based practices to support you in your journey.
Our psychologists use a variety of modalities in sessions and provide a relaxed and approachable environment to invite you into the therapeutic process. Your psychologist will determine the most suitable modality for you after your first session together.
The modalities that may be used include:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Schema Therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
- Solution-Focussed Therapy
Our psychologists also use techniques and principles informed by:
- Internal Family Systems Therapy
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
If you have a specific framework that you would like integrated into your sessions, this can be discussed with your psychologist.
Currently, our psychologists take on clients with challenges such as anxiety, stress, mood disorders (i.e., depression), relationship concerns, life transitions and adjustments, emotional regulation, motivation and change, and perinatal mental health. If you would like to find out whether one of our psychologists can work with your current concerns, please fill out this form and we will determine if there is a practitioner with the skills and expertise to fit your needs.
